Stephanie Tourles’ Seven Reasons to Attend the Mother Earth News Fair — Reason #7

The Mother Earth News Fairs (all three of them!) are Mother Earth News magazine come to life: fun-filled, family-oriented, sustainable-lifestyle events featuring practical, hands-on demonstrations and workshops from the leading authorities on renewable energy, small-scale agriculture, livestock, gardening, green building, natural health, and more.

On Friday, September 20, the Mother Earth News Fair kicks off in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania. Here at Storey, were counting down all week long, and so is author Stephanie Tourles.

Stephanies got seven reasons the Mother Earth News Fair is a must-attend. Here's Reason #7 — stay tuned this week for more!

Reason #7: Great fun!

The Mother Earth News Fair does not disappoint. The days you spend on the fairgrounds, where there’s truly something for everyone, will be full and fun that's for sure!

I attended my first Mother Earth News Fair in Puyallup, Washington, this past May, and even though I was there as a presenter and had a packed schedule, I had a blast. Between presentations, demonstrations, and book signings, I did my best to take advantage of everything the fair had to offer (and wished I had more time).

One of the high points of my weekend in Puyallup occurred while I was at my author booth, signing my books for my class attendees. I got lucky enough to sit next to and chat with television actor-and-environmentalist, Ed Begley, Jr., and farmer-and-author Joel Salatin, who gave standing-room-only presentations on topics like raising pastured livestock and hands-on poultry processing. What an incredible honor to meet and mingle with such talented, knowledgeable people!
