Heritage Breeds Matching Game: Test Your Animal Knowledge!

With the Mother Earth News Fair in Puyallup, Washington, just around the corner (this weekend!), why not try your hand at a little heritage breeds matching game? We cooked this one up to celebrate the release of  The Livestock Conservancy’s An Introduction to Heritage Breeds at the Mother Earth News Fair in Asheville, North Carolina, last month, using Carolyn Guske’s gorgeous illustrations from the book. Simply:
  1. Download this PDF of 25 heritage breed names.
  2. Write the number from the upper lefthand corner of each illustration below next to the correct breed name on your PDF (or just revel in the beauty of Carolyn Guske’s art)!
  3. Check back on Friday to see how you did: we’ll post the answer key here.
Happy matching!

If you are Puyallup-bound this weekend, don’t miss presentations by An Introduction to Heritage Breeds co-authors Jeannette Beranger and Alison Martin, and book signings with Jeannette, Alison, and illustrator Carolyn Guske. See the full schedule of Storey and Timber author presentations and signings for the Washington fair. We hope to see you there!

Is it possible to get the breed names with the picture? Because the pdf just listed the names, so I don't remember which picture I put to which name. Especially the goats.
Thanks!
