Connect Motif 62
In this connection the corner chains have been extended on the last round to better meet each other. The chain loops along each side of the squares create a mesh look to the connection, instead of a more braided look. The sample uses a JAYGo final round with slip-stitch joins, but you could also work a continuous final round with single-crochet join, or any combination.

Work first motif as for Motif 62, making each corner (sc, ch 7, sc) instead of (sc, ch 5, sc).

Make additional motifs with elongated corners, and join to previous motifs along adjacent edges, as follows:

Sc in corner space, ch 3, slip st in corner space of adjacent motif, ch 3, sc in same corner space of current motif, (ch 2, slip st in next space of adjacent motif, ch 2, sc in next space of current motif) four times, ch 2, slip st in next space of adjacent motif, ch 2, ch 3, slip st in corner space of adjacent motif, ch 3, sc in same space of current motif, continue working around.

Features:
  • JAYGo (Join-As-You-Go)
  • Slip-stitch join
  • Extended corners
