Author Philip Schmidt will exhibit several projects from his new book PlyDesign: 73 Distinctive DIY Projects in Plywood at the 7th annual Bay Area Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA. Bay area designers and project contributors Matt Wolpe (who teaches furniture making at the Crucible in Oakland), Ralph Stampone, and Henry Boyle will also show their projects at the booth and will be available to discuss contemporary furniture design as well as the intricacies of designing for — and working with — plywood and other common sheet goods. Along with copies of the book and sample projects, the designers will also have a project portfolio — made out of plywood — for perusal at their Maker Faire booth.

Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors.
