Herbs are easy to grow and easy to use. They bring more beauty, flavor, and health to everyday life. Many of our Facebook readers told us we should giveaway a gardening book, while a few others suggested a cookbook, and someone else a book on herbalism. Well, we aim to please . . .
Today's book giveaway is a book bundle that promotes gardening, herbalism, cooking with herbs, and healthy living. To win Rosemary Gladstar's Medicinal Herbs: A Beginner's Guide and Homegrown Herbs by Tammi Hartung, post a comment below telling us your favorite herb and how you have used it.
Winner will be selected on Friday and chosen at random.
Good Luck!

comfrey is my favorite herb...i use it for bruising, bug bites, any swelling and it makes a great compost tea!
SO many favorites. Cilantro in Thai and Mexican cooking.
Basil is amazing! I think I have 6 different types planted so far this year. I use it in anything I can.
Today tulsi is my favorite herb, because my potted tulsi kapoor has been flowering all winter long, and it's a treat to see flowers indoors in Vermont. Usually I use tulsi in tea, but I also have a tulsi cordial steeping. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out! Thanks for running this giveaway!
I love basil for so many reasons, but top of my list is lavender. It is so wonderful to dry around the house and make sachets.
Basil, hands down. It's on my porch in a container. Lat night we made white pizza with a spary of olive oil, chopped basil and garlic, chopped chicken and mozzerella. SO GOOD!
I don't have a favorite herb...yet! I'm researching starting my own herb garden and these books would be such a big help!
If I could only pick one favorite it would be Oregano. It can be used as a pepper subistute, used in Italian and Greek food, and is just amazing. Its one of my go to herbs the other is Basil. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love all herbs! Recently I have used goats rue for breastfeeding.
my most loved and used herb is plantain, to draw out bug bites, to heal all kinds of skin ailments
My favorite is any mint herbs. I like it in water and tea BUT my kids eat it all before it can be used!
If I have to pick a favorite, it would be savory. I put it in soups & stews a lot!
Lavender! I use it to make sachets and in bouquets. It's also one of the best things in my garden for attracting bees -- they especially love the Spanish variety.
Thyme is definitely our favorite herb. My husband makes fried potatoes with thyme and garlic that are wonderful!
I'm the only dude here! I'm also a home gardener and pro chef! Awesome idea!
Love French tarragon, use it in my chicken and egg dishes. With my next batch I'm going to try making an infused vinegar for salads.
I have a sentimental relationship with apple mint. And it's a dual purpose herb! you can squish it up for your tea; or you can pet it. Because it's so cute and fuzzy :)
Just discovered borage last year when I was gifted with some. I absolutely love the flowers in salads and the stems bruised and tossed in my lemonade.
Mint is a favorite right behind lavender!
All of them but I really love rosemary! I use it in soaps, cooking and tons of other things!
We grow lavender, sage, lemon balm, oregano, and my favorite -- chives. The chives are like the first sign of spring and we munch them raw. I used them on my Seder plate this year and they were wonderful dipped in a bit of salt water.
We love our wild chives! So abundant and tasty, and last all season.
I love sage. Crushing the fresh leaves reminds me of walks on the spring prairie from when I was a girl. Also, it is awesome fried in butter.
peppermint for tea or just cheering you up with the smell, also rosemary is wonderful, and you can taste the vitamins in parsley, I love it.
I love basil and Rosemary. I can grow them all year and have fresh herbs. They're so simple yet they take food to a whole new level. Close second is stevia. I love finding new ways to use it.
I appreciate Maca Root for my fatigue!!! (Not to mention the aphrodisiac properties!!) ;)
Jesse, who loves her chives, you won!
