Bloom Day: September 15, 2011

While many flower gardens may be coming to the end of their peak season, colorful flowers are still gracing our landscapes in Western Massachusetts. Take a look at our late summer blooms:

Carolyn Eckert's Blooms: Florence, MA

sunflower (my only big one that made it)

hydrangea tree

cleome (spider flower)

Alex Lissers's Blooms: North Adams, MA

 Calendula

 Mixed Zinnia & Calendula flowers

Zinnia

Kristy Rustay's Blooms: Pittsfield, MA

Geraniums

Dahlia's and mixed flowers — all of my potted plants
seem to be doing so much better since the temperature cooled down a bit.

Another of my potted flowers that surrounds my deck — looking better than ever in September!

One of the last of my Asters — these have begun to die off.

Unknown (to me), but several of these leafy plants surround
my yard and produces lovely light purple blossoms.

Leslie Anne Charles: Chesterfield, MA

Last of the Baby's Breath

Dahlia. This is actually taken in Carleen Madigan's garden in Cummington.

Nicotonia

A perennial sunflower

Carleen's Dahlia again. This is a new bud with morning dew.

Those are Hostas. Very common, and good in most climates.
