Today's giveaway is the Black Hen Kitchen Timer.

Let us know why you would like to win this gift, if you own chickens, or if you want to raise chickens; give us your favorite chicken or egg recipe or tell us a funny chicken story; or just say “hello.” But remember, you must post to be entered to win.

We look forward to your responses!

I don't own chickens--I live in a condo--but I love seeing the chicks and chickens at the CSA I belong to.

Weirdly enough, I was just looking at that very same chicken kitchen timer few days ago, at a gift shop! And I was tempted to buy it because 1) it's cute, and 2) I don't have a timer. But I didn't give in to the impulse.

So, maybe I'm meant to win it!!! :-)

I use to own chickens and enjoyed having them around. I have mentioned several times to my husband we should get them again I think the younger boys would have fun learning how to take care of them and just watching the chickens run around.
I love the timer, it is adorable!

We've raised chickens on and off (more on) for over 25 years. Nothing like a fresh organic egg. Once you've eaten one you'll never go back. Our hens are Speckled Sussex a heritage breed...well speckled and very friendly. Now the rooster...he's a bit of a bully!

Nicole is our 6 year old daughter. The otehr day she was attending her small flock of Buff Orpington Bantams, when she started screaming! I was caring for our Buff Chanteclers and turned to see what was wrong. She looked up smiling and yelled, "I got three eggs!" We asked her if we could fry them for breakfast and she responded, "No! They have chicks inside them. we have to hatch them!"

We raise Heritage and Exhibition Quality Buckeyes, Chanteclers, Orpingtons, Buff Ducks, Turkeys and Muscovy Ducks. We go by JimsFarmStand on various forums including BYC. I am the secretary for the Exhibition Turkey Fanciers.
