Lonely Llama Crossing
This is what I saw on my parents' road on my way to their house on Christmas morning. Only in Ashfield do cars have to yield to llamas. Brooks, my young springer spaniel, didn't know what to make of this strange creature!
According to Storey's Guide to Raising Llamas, "A llama can easily jump a 5-foot fence, and one that is lonely or looking for food will often make the attempt. Highly social animals, llamas do not like to be alone and will seek a way out to join other llamas or livestock." I guess this llama was just out looking for some friends.
Any unusual "wildlife" sightings in your neck of the woods?
