Scripture for Veggie Gardeners

The Vegetable Gardener's Bible among organic lettuce

The advice in the Vegetable Gardener’s Bible was simple to follow, correct, and inspiring. My pictures are a collection of before, during, and after . . . well, almost after.

Our summer of 2009 bumper crop of organic spuds was the best ever! Our homegrown spuds were gobbled up at our Thanksgiving dinner before I could say "Kodak"! In my house, with good ole Irish last names like Mahoney and Milligan, we eat pounds and pounds of potatoes! We also enjoyed our garden’s bounty at our Thanksgiving dinner, with our yummy, healthy, and organic homegrown carrots, squash, peppers, corn, beans, blueberries, and raspberries.

I am anxiously awaiting the release of the updated tenth-year edition of Ed Smith's Vegetable Gardener's Bible. Winters are long in Vermont, and the updated edition will make for great "sitting around the woodstove" reading and planning until I can get my hands back in the unfrozen earth!

Hello, Storey folks!

I was about to buy The Vegetable Gardener's Bible for a friend's wish list, but Amazon just bumped back the December 1 release date and still says it's a pre-order. Is it not shipping? Amazon glitch? Sold out already? I'd like to get my Christmas shopping done and relax, and this looks like a very cool gift.

Best of luck with it, either way.

Hi Glen,
Thanks! Amazon's stock of The Vegetable Gardener's Bible is actually on it's way to them, and they should have it available for purchase in a few days.
Best Wishes,
Melanie

Hey, Maryellen!

You make me want winter to be over so i can get back out in the yard again and plant a veggie garden. Maybe I'll get that done this next year.
