One-Yard Wonders Launch Party!

One-Yard Wonders by Patricia Hoskins and Rebecca Yaker made its debut in Minneapolis, Minnesota, recently, on an unseasonably warm autumn day. It was hosted at Patricia’s craft store, Crafty Planet (2833 Johnson Street NE, Minneapolis MN 55418) that she co-owns with her husband Matt. It could have been the gorgeous, sunny weather or the fact this is a one-of-a kind book that caused locals and beyond to flock and stand in line to receive their copies of One-Yard Wonders and have them signed by Trish and Rebecca.

It was estimated after we sold out of books and took preorders that over 100 crafters were in attendance. Included in the crowd were 16 contributors, some from as far away as Chicago and Winnipeg, Canada.

Crafty Planet’s charming walls were filled with bolts of fabric of every color, pattern, and texture, just waiting to be cut into yards. The air was buzzing with excitement of what could be done with just one yard of fabric. Many readers and contributors are posting their projects on Storey’s Facebook page.

Some of the 101 projects in the book were on display at the party, and their creators should be proud. The book is receiving praise from the craft world.

“Talk about quality and quantity, One-Yard Wonders is an impressive volume of super creative projects all utilizing our favorite scraps and a simple yard of fabric. This book is a keeper!” — Amy Butler, Amy Butler Designs

As highlighted on the local Fox channel series Twin Cities Live and Shop Girls, Storey’s Yard of the Month Sweepstakes contest is still taking entries. Register here to win a yard of fabric every month for one year!

One-Yard Wonders is available wherever books are sold.
