Prince of the Peonies?

Last Thursday, as I was gathering a bouquet of flowers from the yard, I made the acquaintance of this tiny, golden spring peeper, who was hiding out in the fragrant petals of a peony. He remained there while I ran into the house to grab my camera and seemed to be watching me as I photographed him. Maybe he was waiting for a kiss — though it's more likely he was waiting for an unsuspecting pollinator to arrive.
