It seems like today is Backyard Homestead day—we've just received an early copy of the New York Times Book Review that will be on newsstands this weekend. In it you'll find a charming review of The Backyard Homestead in the Gardening Round-Up, complete with this quote: "This fascinating, friendly book is brimming with ideas, illustrations, and enthusiasm. The garden plans are solid, the advice, crisp; the diagrams, as on pruning and double digging, are models of decorum. Madigan makes it all look so easy..."
